We are incredibly proud to share that The Courier Company Nationwide has been awarded Independent Courier of the Year 2026 – Gold Award at the National Courier & Despatch Association (NCDA) Awards.
This prestigious national award recognises excellence across the UK courier industry, celebrating businesses that demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, resilience and commitment to raising industry standards. To be named Gold Award winner is a significant milestone for our team and a moment of real pride as we celebrate 13 years in business.
A Journey of Growth, Resilience and Evolution
What began as a single-driver operation has grown into a nationwide courier company with 26 dedicated professionals, including 18 drivers operating across the UK and 8 specialist office staff supporting customers every day.
The past year marked a pivotal chapter in our journey. Following major leadership changes in 2025, including the departure of long-standing senior team members, the business faced a defining period. Rather than slowing down, Managing Director Richard England used this moment to modernise internal systems, strengthen operational structure and position the company for sustainable growth.
The result is a stronger, more agile business that continues to deliver reliable nationwide courier services while maintaining the personal service our customers value.
Championing Diversity in the Courier Industry
The NCDA nomination recognised our commitment to challenging the traditional, male-dominated image of the logistics sector. Over the past 12 months, we have actively invested in female leadership and support roles, welcoming a female Business Manager, Controller, Sales Assistant and Accounts Assistant into the team.
This shift has brought new perspectives, strengthened decision-making and helped foster a more inclusive workplace that reflects the modern workforce and the customers we serve.
Investing in People and the Future of Logistics
One of the most meaningful aspects of our nomination highlighted our commitment to workforce development and social responsibility.
Through our apprenticeship programme, we supported a young man who had struggled within traditional education, providing tailored mentoring and real-world opportunities. With guidance and support, he achieved his forklift licence, successfully retook and passed his English GCSE, and progressed his maths qualifications. Today, he is a confident, skilled professional contributing valuable expertise to the courier industry.
This belief in developing people sits at the heart of how we operate.
Collaboration Over Competition
At TCCN, we believe that a stronger courier industry benefits everyone. In 2025, members of our leadership team travelled over 600 miles to visit fellow NCDA members across the UK, sharing ideas, discussing challenges and working collaboratively to raise standards across the sector.
This approach to industry collaboration was recognised by the NCDA as a key factor in our award win.
Maintaining Excellence as We Scale
As businesses grow, maintaining personal service becomes increasingly challenging. We are proud that even as we have expanded, our customers continue to rate us highly, with a consistent 5-star Trustpilot rating reflecting our commitment to communication, care and professionalism.
This award is a testament to the dedication of our entire team and the trust our customers place in us every day.
Looking Ahead
Winning the NCDA Independent Courier of the Year 2026 – Gold Award is an incredible honour, but it is also motivation to continue improving, evolving and leading by example within the UK courier industry.
We would like to thank the NCDA, our customers, our industry peers and, most importantly, our team, whose hard work and values made this achievement possible.
